Wherespresso.

I know, trust me, I know.

Shocking user interface for submissions, and it looks horrible (well, at least I think so).

Wherespresso’s current site needs improvement, and believe me it is being worked on right now.

Leaving aside the submission form redesign (which is turning out to be harder than I imagined, if anyone is a competent php/mysql/Wordpress ninja, please contact me), I basically handed this over to Lauren at creativecurio.com with a brief to make something beautiful. Neat trick huh?

Anyway, below you can see a sneak peak of where we’re going. Thanks to everyone who has given their feedback so far; I’d love to hear what *you* think.

I’m still working through the actual search page and submission page with Lauren, but it’s looking good. The functionality is important, and here’s what’s coming.

  • Wildcard search: any term, like postcode, city, cafe name etc
  • Detailed search: by specific fields, e.g. “Melbourne, Bonsoy, 8 stars or more only”
  • Facebook/Twitter site registration
  • Improvement in submission form so you can just enter the address using a Google Map
  • Autoscaling of photos to make your life easier
  • No need for you to enter any tags

The compass in the coffee cup is very original. Nice touch.

Thanks Vad, that's what I thought. The main thing is getting the photos to pop, so you want to go get coffee, but also – very importantly – want to submit reviews to the page and contribute and help people identify where the good coffee is.
